Schubert in Community Concert

In an evening dedicated to sharing the music of Franz Schubert, pianist Naomi Piggott-Suchan is joined by fellow artists for a concert of piano, lieder, and chamber music.

This concert’s format will be in the spirit of the Shubertiade, a social-artistic phenomenon which began during the composer’s lifetime and continues to this day.

Convention 2018: what to look forward to

Namoradze in Recital – 2018 Honens Winner

The Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers and the SSO are excited to present Nicholas Namoradze in recital.  The recital is part of the 2018 Provincial Convention of the Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers.

Namoradze was the recent winner of the the 2018 Honens Competition – hailed for his exceptional performances in recital, chamber music, and with orchestra.  His Saskatoon concert will feature the music of Scriabin, Bach, Schumann, and more, including his own compositions.

The Honens Piano Competition takes place every three years and is considered one of the world’s most prestigious events of its kind. Honens prepares its Laureates for the rigours and realities of professional careers in music and creates opportunities for growth and exposure. The annual Honens Festival is one of Canada’s premier piano events.

This event will be taking place on Friday, October the 12th at 7:30 in the Peter MacKinnon Building (U of S Campus).
