Biography Michelle holds a Masters degree in Piano Performance & Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College of Rider University studying with Frances Clark, Louise Goss and Phyllis Lehrer. She has 40 years teaching experience. She has performed with the Saskatoon Children’s Choir, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra, Piano Fridays at The Bassment and the International Saito Conducting School. Michelle collaborates with many local studios. Her students include SRMTA provincial composition winners and RCM Gold medallists. She values a growth mindset for her students by providing several learning and performing opportunities. She also believes that there is always more to learn as a teacher, and continues to engage in professional development on a regular basis. Biography Melanie has an active piano studio, with experience teaching all age groups and levels from beginner to Grade 10. Melanie is involved in volunteering in her community via playing and singing at various retirement communities, nursing homes, and church services. Melanie is currently taking classes at SIAST in Therapeutic Recreation with the goal of using music therapy to help others. Melanie continues to maintain a music studio while studying and has no plans of retiring, ever. 🙂

Biography An expressive singing actress, Aliah Nelson has performed in over 30 theatrical productions, appearing most recently as Clarissa in Saskatoon Summer Players’ Little Women and as Ella in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience with Opera NUOVA. She has also performed as a concert soloist with Saskatoon Opera, the Saskatoon Chamber Singers, and the Brandon Chamber Players. Aliah completed her Master’s in Music Performance and Literature at the University of Western Ontario in 2017 under Jackalyn Short’s tutelage. She has won numerous awards for her artistry and academia, including the prestigious Canadian Graduate Scholarship – Master’s SSHRC grant for her research-in-performance project on Richard Strauss in 2015-16. She was also the recipient of a young artist professional development grant from the Saskatchewan Arts Board in 2017. Now residing in Saskatoon, Aliah teaches private voice lessons and is the music teacher at Wild Spirit Education. She is thrilled to spend her days cultivating her students’ passions for music, while continuing to embark on her own musical journey as a performer and educator.

Biography Lynn Ewing’s studio is noted for its diversity. She is happy to work with pianists and singers at all levels, and is able to provide all necessary theoretical instruction as well. Lynn is the president of the Saskatoon Symphony Board, and a passionate advocate for the arts in our community.

Biography Bernadette maintains an active piano studio of approximately 30 students. In addition to serving as a pianist for the St. Anne’s R.C. parish, she performs at weddings and funerals throughout the year. She continues to serve as an accompanist on the staff of North Battleford’s annual Summer School for the Solo Voice. Although she has accompanied a wide variety of instrumentalists over the years, Bernadette now focuses primarily on accompanying strings (likely no coincidence, given that her son, Simon, is a violinist).

Biography Dr. Garry Gable performs and teaches extensively in Canada and abroad, including the USA and China. He has performed with such groups as CBC, Canadian Opera Company, various musical productions, and many symphonies. He is Assoc Prof of Voice at the University of Saskatchewan, and adjunct lecturer at Music Conservatories in Wuhan and Tianjin, China. He holds performance degrees from the Universities of Michigan, Windsor, and Wilfrid Laurier.
